How to add an overlay to TikTok LIVE Studio
If you have a StreamRio overlay URL, gift widget, browser widget, or other web overlay, the clean setup is to add it to TikTok LIVE Studio as its own Link source and keep it layered above your camera or screen capture.

Size and placement tips
For a character overlay, use a tall rectangle instead of a full-screen source when possible. A 4:5 source such as 720 × 900 or 800 × 1000 works well for pet-style overlays, while full-screen widgets can use your scene resolution.
- Place the character beside chat, near a bottom corner, or beside your camera.
- Avoid covering subtitles, product links, game UI, or gift goals.
- If there is extra blank space, crop or resize the Link source instead of stretching the character.
- Keep transparent backgrounds enabled in the overlay tool.
What to test before going live
Preview the overlay in the exact scene you plan to use. Trigger a small event, a medium event, and your biggest reaction so you can verify the timing, size, sound, and overlap.
- Small event: like, follow, chat, or low-value gift.
- Medium event: Galaxy-style gift or active chat moment.
- Large event: premium gift, stream goal, or major celebration.
- Fallback: make sure the overlay still looks okay when no event is playing.
